MIND TEASER QUIZ

Somebody gave me this quiz sometime in 1999. I enjoyed it quite a bit. I have looked for it on the Internet but have not found it anywhere. I have no idea who created it and would be glad to extend credit to anyone who wants to claim it.

I have subsequently found similar quizes that relate more to sports, in particular one that apparently related to Australian sports.

It was put here in the hope that somebody would furnish me with the answer to the question I was unable to figure out. One of my son's finally came up with the answer. By the way, if you have any question about whether any answer you have in mind is the right answer then it probably isn't. In my experience, once you figure out what the question refers to it will be completely clear that you have the right answer. Note that this "quiz" relates mostly to Western culture and specifically to Americal culture. It is not useful for people brought up in other cultures except as an indication of how much you have assimilated our culture. The rest of this document is substantially as I got it.

This test does not measure your intelligence, your fluency with words, and certainly not your mathematical ability. It will, however, give you some gauge of your mental flexibility and creativity. In the three years since the test was developed, it has been found that few people could solve more than half on the first day. Many reported getting answers long after the test had been set aside, at unexpected moments when their minds were relaxed; and some reported solving questions over a period of several days.

Take this as a personal challenge.
