About the Author - Mr. A.G. Carrick
Mr. Carrick has nearly a quarter of a century of experience in the information processing industry. His career spans the spectrum of the industry, including end user organizations, hardware manufacturers, software publishers, third party maintenance firms, universities, and research and development firms.
His job experience began with operation of tabulating machines with punched cards and proceeded through programming, systems analysis, systems engineering, LAN Administration, software development management, MIS department management, and consulting.
He owned a software development firm for seven years, developing multi-user software packages that were sold to Federal, State, and local government agencies, Universities, and Fortune 1,000 companies as well as smaller firms. He now consults with these same organizations about the management and use of Personal Computers, Local Area Networks, and mini and mainframe computers.
Mr. Carrick has written articles for computer and other professional journals and for national computer professional group meetings. He has also been an invited speaker on several occasions at computer professional group chapter meetings and regional computer user group conferences.
