This photograph was scanned from the book "Planning The Route", Published by Harmon County Historical Association, Hollis, OK 73550, 1980. Emma Brown Little, widow of David J. Little, came to Harmon County in 1906, from Sparta, White County, Tennessee. She had one son, William, and three daughters, Sallie Ethel, Amanda Lou, and Mary Dave. ... [Will and Sallie moved with their Carrick relatives to Harmon Co., OK after the Civil War.] ... Emma missed her children and times were hard, so she, Amanda Lou and Mary Dave came west. They first lived in a rented house, ten miles north and 2 west of Gould. She continued to sew for the public. She was an excellent seamstress, and to be sure that the clothing fit as she wanted it to, she went into the homes of her customers and stayed until the garments were completed. ... Emma had lived with each of her children, but at the time of her death in 1920 she was living with Will.
